As a captive to the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there. ~Acts 20:22
The Apostle Paul knew that going to Jerusalem was risky, but he went because God called him to go. Being a pilgrim of any kind can be unsettling and feel risky. Many of us prefer to stay in the zone of safety. I sometimes wonder why I left home to come to Jerusalem. It?s a temptation to think of faith as something that makes life more predictable, rather than less so.
What feels risky to you on this Lenten pilgrimage?
Prayer: O Spirit, help me to trust you on this pilgrim path.
