For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life, and there are few who find it. ~Matthew 7:14
A pilgrim is different from a tourist. A tourist seeks comfort and expediency on the road. But a pilgrim desires contact over comfort, authenticity over expediency. A tourist wants to hit the high points so she can later say, Oh, yes, I saw that. But a pilgrim trusts the road through its dips as well as its elevations.
How would your spiritual life change if you were more pilgrim and less tourist this Lent?
Prayer: O Lord, give me a pilgrim heart.
