Yesterday was a long ministry day, with a little bit of everything: pastoral care, church leadership, Bible study, chitchat, long agendas. This kind of ministry can feel like living life on double-speed, because of interacting with people in many different places on life’s journey. It’s a bit tiring, but I treasure the way it helps me keep perspective.
Have you heard the story about the sovereign who dispatched a committee of sages to come up with one slogan that would apply wisdom to any situation in life? After years of study, what they came up with was:
This too shall pass.
