Water Water

July 14, 2009 By Ruth Everhart Leave a Comment

Super Saturday is coming up, and we have a water theme: while the little ones learn Bible lessons about water, the medium-sized ones will have a car wash, and the old ones (aka “adults”) will work and probably sweat.  So we’ll all be using the medium of H2O.

Have you ever tried to list all the Bible stories that use water as a central element/motif?  Astounding, really.  Water is life, and it is also death.  It’s presence is a blessing and it’s absence a curse.  Deep waters terrify us and still waters restore us.  When waters rage we are not to lose hope  . . .  and this is off the top of my head, of course.  It will be fun to work with this.  Such a plethora of choices!
